Please join us at our 2nd Annual Rutgers Undergraduate Research Discovery Day (URDD) General Research Fair. This event is open to all RU-NB undergraduates who are interested in getting involved in research during their academic tenure. This exciting event will provide the inside perspective on research opportunities from staff, faculty, alumni, and current undergraduate researchers. Learn how to get involved in cutting-edge research across all disciplines from biology, engineering, the humanities and the social sciences. Find out how undergraduate research can enhance your resume, help you gain real-world skills, and even lead to publication or conference presentation opportunities. Connect directly with Undergraduate Research Programs, researchers, and labs on campus. Join us to discover all that Rutgers-NB has to offer for hands-on learning experiences and kickstart your research journey. We hope to see you there!

  • General Research Fair 
    10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
    This is a tabling event designed to introduced RU- NB undergraduates to the many opportunities and resources available through structured and independent research pipelines. The fair will also include essential units that support the academic and professional success of the undergraduate research community.  

     
  • Faculty Mentor Panel
    10:30 a.m. - 11:10 a.m.
    2:10 p.m. - 2:50 p.m.
    This panel will consist of current Faculty Mentors and Undergraduate Academic Directors who can speak to the importance of undergraduate research, the avenues for getting involved, and potential expectations of Faculty and Students who wish to engage in research at Rutgers University.  

     
  • Student Researcher Panel (Open to Undergraduates, Graduate Students, and Alumni)
    11:10 a.m.-11:50 a.m.
    1:00 p.m. - 1:40 p.m.
    This panel will consist of current or past Rutgers student researchers who can speak to the importance of undergraduate research, the avenues for getting involved, how the experi
    ence has shaped their interests, (future) careers, and answer questions of the appropriate audience.

     
  • Publishing/Research Writing Session
    1:40 p.m. - 2:10 p.m.
    This panel will consist of members of Aresty RURJ, the Writing Program and Research Writing Conference, and past and current undergraduates who have been published in peer reviewed journals.  This session will allow participants to speak to the merits of engaging in research, their experiences applying for publications, and positive impact of getting published. 

     
  • Research Discovery Sessions to be held September 16th -27th
    During Success Weeks, faculty and supporting units will also host “Research Discovery Sessions” at different locations across campus to expose students to research in its many forms. Additionally, essential supporting units will offer sessions to discuss the resources that complement the positive outcomes of students’ research and academic experiences.
